Charleston Green is a historic color in the low country. But is it really green? It has been said that the North donated black paint to help spruce up the city. The South was opposed to using that 'Yankee' color and decided to add some 'Confederate' yellow and a splash of blue - the mixed result is Charleston Green. While it looks mostly black, there are variations of how much of each color is added to the can. In some cases if does turn out to be a very deep green.
